Soil & Water Pollution

The greatest environmental dangers to our soil are over fertilization, runoff water from contaminated sources and leaching of landfill contaminates. Ecalene™ production can help mitigate all of these issues. Over fertilization often occurs when there is an overabundance of animal manure with no economically viable alternative use. Ecalene™ can utilize manure as feedstock from all sources and eliminate it from fertilizer use except where it really needed. Ecalene™ can also utilize sludge and other hazardous materials that could contaminate water directly exposed to soil.

Water is the most important natural resource (other than air) for sustaining life, as we know it. It is vital for food production and perhaps more fragile than even air. Virtually all man made pollutants that find their way to our rivers, streams and water table happen to make great fuel. They include fertilizers, sludge, plastics, tires, cleaning solvents, transformer oil, paint thinner, and other contaminants registered on the EPA's "hit list."

Landfill sites (both legal and illegal) comprise the vast majority of EPA superfund sites where the contamination is thought to be so bad as to require Federal intervention. All of these materials when brought to an Ecalene™ production facility can be processed into high quality fuel or at least rendered inert and utilized in a commercial application. Not only can existing landfills be retired, they can be drastically reduced in size by the removing of previously land filled material suitable for Ecalene™production. Removing of this material will greatly reduce the opportunity for leaching of any toxic materials into the soil and water table. Currently, the EPA superfund sites require expensive monitoring on an ongoing basis---virtually forever.
